Ronaldo playing for Barcelona absurd - Cruyff

Ronaldo playing for Barcelona absurd - Cruyff
Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has laughed off suggestions the Catalans could try to sign Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo at some stage in the future.
A number of reports have claimed the Portugal international could be on his way to the Camp Nou side after ex-president Joan Laporta met with his agent Jorge Mendes earlier this month.
Laporta is expected to contest the next Barca presidential election and it had been suggested he met with Mendes to discuss a potential move for Ronaldo if he were to be elected club president again.
Nevertheless, Cruyff - a close ally of Laporta - has stressed that Ronaldo will never wear the Barcelona jersey.
"It is an absurdity to think Cristiano Ronaldo could play for Barcelona," the Dutchman told Sportmasta.
Cruyff then went on to discuss the situation of Lionel Messi at Camp Nou and stressed that the Argentine would never leave the club for financial reasons.
The prolific attacker recently suggested that he is unhappy with life at Barca and Cruyff feels there might be some internal issues at the club.
"Of course, there will be a number of teams willing to pay €200 million for Messi, but I don't think he will leave for the money.
"Messi's problem with Barcelona is something that's happened within the club. Internally things can happen that neither of us know of. I think Messi's problem is internal."
The 27-year-old has a contract with Barcelona until June 2018.
