Independiente del Valle's midfielder Arturo Mina Meza was knocked unconscious when he blocked a fierce shot by Emelec's Jorge Guagua in their Primera Division de Ecuador clash.
The 24-year-old Ecuadorian fell to the ground after making contact with the ball and it took about a minute, with the help of the medics, for him to get back up.
Emelec then managed to win the match with the end result of 1-0.
