Arsenal 2-0 Cardiff: Bendtner & Walcott keep Gunners top with vital late goals

Late goals from the Dane and the Englishman helped Arsene Wenger's weakened side overcome a wasteful display and gritty Bluebirds defending to claim three points

Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott struck late to keep Arsenal top of the Premier League with a hard-fought victory over Cardiff City.

Bendtner bundled the ball home from close range after Bacary Sagna had seen his header saved by David Marshall to break the deadlock on 88 minutes, and Walcott netted two minutes later.

Watched by Vincent Tan and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - the man widely expected to succeed Malky Mackay as manager - the Bluebirds produced a gritty display but could not claim a valuable away point.
