    Diego López Rodríguez

The goalkeeper continued to show he warrants his place in the starting line-up with a magnificent stop to keep out Charles after just six minutes. He was busier than he would have expected but he dealt with everything capably.
  • Pepe
    0
    4

    Pepe

Seemed hesitant on his return to the first team following suspension. He did not close the Celta players quickly enough and looked vulnerable when they ran at him with pace.
  • Sergio Ramos

    1

    Sergio Ramos

Read the game well and made a number of important interceptions and blocks. He pushed up to help heap the pressure on.
  • Marcelo
    0
    3

    Marcelo

Put in a rather reserved performance as he did not look to push on beyond the winger and get the ball into the box. He coped well with Fernandez at the other end, but he could have done more for his team.
  • Daniel Carvajal
    3
    1

    Daniel Carvajal

Was one of Madrid's most positive outlets in the first half as he continually chased up and down the right flank. He linked with his team-mates well and earned an assist with a great cross for Madrid's second.
  • Xabi Alonso
    1
    3

    Xabi Alonso

Struggled to influence the game in the middle of the park. His passing was not quite as expansive as you would expect from him and he did not offer much protection to his defence when Celta pushed forwards.
  • Luka Modric

    Luka Modric

Orchestrated the Madrid attacks through the middle and he moved the ball about well. He had a decent effort at goal which flew narrowly over the crossbar during the first half.
  • Ángel Di María
    2
    0

    Ángel Di María

Only really looked dangerous when getting the ball on the counterattack. He frequently cut inside onto his left foot but his final product was not quite up to standard as Madrid struggled to create.
  • Isco
    0
    1

    Isco

Pulled out wide in an attempt to get involved in the action but he did not look at all comfortable. From such a position he was unable to provide the killer passes which make him such a talent.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo
    5
    9

Cristiano Ronaldo Top of the Match

Often occupied a more central position and barely participated for much of the game. However, when the chances finally came his way he took them, scoring a late double to make it 20 Liga goals this season.
  • Karim Benzema
    1
    1

    Karim Benzema

The Frenchman's movement was decent during the first half but he did not receive an awful lot of the ball. He had a couple of good chances and got an important goal to break the deadlock in the second half.

    Yoel Flop of the Match

The keeper showed good awareness when called upon in the first half. His positioning let him down after the break though as Madrid put three goals past him.
  • Hugo Mallo
    1
    1

    Hugo Mallo

Was solid at right-back for much of the game, but the introduction of Jese caused him some problems. He was adventurous despite the stature of the opposition but could not supply an awful lot from the right.
  • Johny
    0
    0

    Johny

Was put under continual pressure as Carvajal continually bombed forward and he did not get enough support from Orellana. He allowed Bale in behind to supply the Madrid third too.
  • Gustavo Daniel Cabral

    Gustavo Daniel Cabral

Helped organise the defence well for much of the game but they succumbed to the pressure in the second half. He missed a great chance to grab a goal for his team and moments later lost Ronaldo as he netted his second.
  • David Costas

The young centre-back had an impressive start as he stuck close to Benzema. He made a number of crucial interceptions and was alert to the danger, but his concentration slipped late on and Madrid punished them.
  • Oubiña

Sat in front of the defence and policed the midfield for the first half. He had a great chance to score but headed over and after the restart he was unable to continue at the same level as he tired.
  • Alex López

    Rafinha

The Barcelona-owned midfielder was energetic in midfield, chasing back to help defend but also looking to launch counterattacks. His passing was impressive and he got some decent efforts away at goal.

    0

    Fabián Orellana

Was caught in possession inside his own half a couple of times and was fortunate to get let off the hook when it mattered. He did not offer much in terms of attacking intent from the left.
  • Augusto Fernández

    Augusto Fernández

The Argentine had a few bright moments and was disciplined as he got back to help protect his full-back. Celta could have used his influence was needed higher up the pitch too.
  • Charles
    0
    2

    Charles

Had Celta's two best chances, one either side of the break, but failed to take either of them. It ended up costing his side as Benzema's goal meant they left the Bernabeu empty handed.
