Michu refused to target a specific return date, however, adding: "With this injury, though, you need to be careful and see how the ankle is every day so I don’t want to say ‘I want to be back for this date or game’. If I am going to play I need to be 100 per cent and not just 60 per cent. I want to be fit and I want to play at my highest level, so we will wait until I am fully fit.”

There's a general air of confusion as to why Juventus would want another midfielder as they discuss offloading Mirko Vucinic to Inter and taking Fredy Guarin in part-exchange. The Italian champions already have a wealth of options in midfield...but that might not always be the case.

David Moyes was recently spotted watching the Bianconeri and is rumoured to be keen on bringing Claudio Marchisio to Manchester United this January, while in-demand Paul Pogba has been linked with a host of clubs and his future in Turin seems decidedly uncertain. Andrea Pirlo, meanwhile, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Maybe Juve do need Guarin after all, it's not like Arturo Vidal can run the midfield all on his own. Actually, he probably could...

Mirko Vucinic is understood to have already said goodbye to his team-mates at the Vinovo, Juventus' training ground, ahead of a looming move to Inter.

The Montenegro striker had been linked with a loan move to the Emirates Stadium, but Juventus' desire to secure a permanent transfer has seen the Serie A champions open talks with their divisional rivals over a swap deal.

But does he think he'll get Spurs into the top four? Here's more from Sherwood: "Realistically, we should be in and amongst it but it's not easy is it? There's a lot of top teams in there and no-one seems to be giving any leeway. I keep looking at the results thinking 'surely they're going to drop points here today' and they don't seem to be doing it. LIKE A NEW SIGNING KLAXON

I'm running out of klaxons - Tim Sherwood has praised the reborn Emmanuel Adebayor after the Togolese forward scored a brace in Tottenham's 3-1 win at Swansea, but refused to take the credit for his fine form.

"I've just given him the stage to go and play. He hasn't had that stage for a while," Sherwood said. "It's not as I've turned Adebayor into a good player. We all know he's been a good player at every club he's been at. He's been fantastic."

Sounds like more of a damning statement of Andre Villas-Boas' limitations than anything else, really.
