The Super Eagles trio, alongside eight other
players from three countries, made the best eleven of the just-concluded
2014 African Nations Championship
Ejike Uzoenyi, Rabiu Ali and Kunle Odunlami
have been named in the best eleven of the just-concluded African
Nations Championship staged in South Africa by the Confederation of
African Football (Caf).Nigeria, Ghana and champions Libya had three players each featured in the squad, while Zimbabwe supplied the remaining two players.
Libya goalkeeper Mohamed Abdaula was picked in goal, behind a back line featuring Nigeria’s Kunle Odunlami, who had a fantastic tournament, Partson Jaure of Zimbabwe, Joshua Tijani of Ghana and Libya’s Ali Salama.
The most valuable player of the competition, Ejike Uzoenyi, led the midfield, that also paraded Kudakwashe Mahachi of Zimbabwe, Ghana’s Jordan Opoku and Mohamed Elgadi of Libya.
Rabiu Ali of Nigeria made the attack with Ghana’s Seidu Bansey who did not find the back of the net throughout the championship.
However, no Super Eagles player was good enough to make the reserve of the competition's best according to Caf.
