Basketball; Los Angeles Lakers come from behind to defeat Boston Celtics at home

The Los Angeles Lakers exploded in the fourth quarter to claim a 101-92 comeback win against arch-rivals the Boston Celtics.

The hosts outscored the Celtics 38-18 in the final period to finally bring their eight-game losing streak at the Staples Center to an end.

MarShon Brooks, who played for Boston earlier this season before arriving in Los Angeles via Golden State, had 10 of his 14 points in the final 12 minutes, while Kent Bazemore sank two key three-pointers in the decisive run.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers' six-game winning streak came to an end in Toronto as they lost 98-91 to the Raptors.

Terrence Ross scored 20 points and Jonas Valanciunas 18 as Toronto took their fourth win from the last five games.

British star Luol Deng had 21 points and 11 rebounds but it was not enough for a Cleveland team who were seeking their first seven-game winning streak since 2010.

A 17-point second-quarter run powered the Phoenix Suns to a 106-85 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Chicago Bulls ran their winning streak to five as DJ Augustin scored 22 and dished out eight assists in a 117-89 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Zach Randolph had 21 points and 11 rebounds while Marc Gasol collected 17 points and 10 boards in a 102-96 Memphis Grizzlies win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Twenty points and 11 rebounds from Andre Drummond led the Detroit Pistons to a 115-107 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, while Dirk Nowitzki poured in 25 points for the Dallas Mavericks in a 124-112 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Al Jefferson went off for 33 points and 10 rebounds to give the Charlotte Bobcats a third straight win, 90-87 over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Arron Affalo had 32 points and Victor Oladipo 30 as the Orlando Magic topped the New York Knicks129-121 after double overtime.
