Player reaction - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham

Robert Snodgrass
  1.
MOTD's John Roder at Carrow RoadNorwich 1-0 Tottenham
"A huge result for Chris Hughton and Norwich City. Robert Snodgrass's goal early in the second half was enough to earn them victory but John Ruddy had to be solid at the back to repel Tottenham as they looked for an equaliser."
  2.
MOTD's Steve Bower at St James' ParkNewcastle 1-0 Aston Villa
"The win is a huge relief for Newcastle and a massive three points for Alan Pardew. They left it very, very late but, after a run of four points from 24, Loic Remy put smiles back on Geordie faces."
  3.
MOTD's Jonathan Pearce at AnfieldLiverpool 4-3 Swansea
"Liverpool made sure that all the top four teams won this weekend but it was a pipsqueak victory in the end. One or two of the top four are winning when they play badly, scraping victories, and Liverpool have done that today but it was great fun for the neutral."

Paul Moore: Daniel Levy is on the phone to Louis van Gaal right now...
Vinny Person: Norwich dug deep, played with conviction and heart, unlucky not to have wrapped that up by more.
  6. 18:09:
Well played Bobby Snod - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Robert Snodgrass rightly won the man-of-the-match award for Norwich, producing a superb performance in midfield for the Canaries. He won nine tackles in the middle of the park and he intercepted possession the same number of times. Throw in four clearances, two shots on target and one goal and he deserves that bottle of champagne he's likely to receive. Plus the crossbar is still shaking from that late free-kick.
  7. 18:05:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
The stats say it was a pretty even game...

Player reaction - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
    Robert Snodgrass
Norwich midfielder Robert Snodgrass, speaking on Sky Sports: "It was a massive win, especially with teams around us losing yesterday it was key to get three points today. The performances over last three or four weeks have been terrific, but we've shot ourselves in the foot with conceding silly goals, so we're delighted with the win today."
  9. 17:58:
At the top... - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
The worst thing about defeat? Seeing your rivals edge clear in the league table...
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
  10. 17:56:
At the bottom... - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
The best thing about victory? Looking at the league table after it...
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
  11. 17:55:
BBC Radio 5 live's Clive AllenNorwich 1-0 Tottenham
"I'm delighted for Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood on the staff at Norwich, that was a massive three points and in the context of the game, they deserved it."
  12. 17:54:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Norwich chief executive David McNally looks like he is about to cry at the final whistle. Relief is the word.

Sam, London: "I think it would be great for Norwich & West Ham to stay up and Fulham, Cardiff and West Brom to go down - show chairmen that keeping faith rather than changing managers is the way forward."
  14. 17:52:
    FULL-TIME - Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
That's it, all over at Carrow Road. A massive and deserved three points for Norwich as Tottenham slump to only their second league defeat under Tim Sherwood.
  15. 17:51:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Tottenham's final chance? Nacer Chadli has a pop from just outside the area but it's tame and straight at John Ruddy.
  16. 17:51:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Poor from Nacer Chadli as he cuts into the penalty area but wastefully fires his attempted cross into the crowd. John Ruddy is then booked for time-wasting. I told you it was like a cup tie. All we need now is Hugo Lloris to go up for a corner.
  17. 17:49:
    INJURY TIME- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
We're going to have three minutes of time added on. Kitchen sink time.
  18. 17:48:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
One minute to go and Leroy Fer goes down with cramp. It's like a cup tie now, there's a lot at stake for both teams.
  19. 17:47:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Norwich just can't find that second goal to finish the match as Gary Hooper skins Michael Dawson for pace and pulls the ball back for Alex Tettey six yards out, but it's just behind the midfielder and Spurs are handed a reprieve.
  20.
BBC Radio 5 live's Clive AllenNorwich 1-0 Tottenham
"If Norwich don't claim all three points there will be disbelief here, it was an amazing strike. Then Redmond had a chance, but that was a magnificent stop from Lloris. He's not had much to do tonight but that was a great save."
  21. 17:45:
    SUBSTITUTION- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Some changes to tell you about. For Tottenham, Danny Rose is off and replaced by Andros Townsend. For Norwich, Wes Hoolahan comes on for Nathan Redmond. Four minutes to go.
  22. 17:44:
HITS THE WOODWORK- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
The crossbar is still shaking! Robert Snodgrass crashes a 30-yard free-kick against the bar and the ball bounces down on to the line and away to safety. The ball is eventually worked back into the mixer and Nathan Redmond is superbly denied by Hugo Lloris.
  23. 17:41:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Another chances goes begging for Spurs as Mousa Dembele splits the flat-footed Norwich defence with a sublime pass but Nacer Chadli's angled shot is beaten clear by John Ruddy. He should have scored there.

Al Taal: I can't understand why Townsend is sat on the bench! Anyway, not that I care, as a Gunner. Come on Norwich!
  25. 17:39:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Make that 'almost' Robert Snodgrass territory as the Norwich talisman tries to curl the ball inside the near post but it goes just wide.
  26. 17:38:
    YELLOW CARD- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
That's Jan Vertonghen into the book for a scything tackle from behind on Gary Hooper 30 yards out. Robert Snodgrass territory to be precise...

Mikey Tomlinson: Is this the end of Sherwood's honeymoon? That's how football is now; one poor result and your job is under threat.
    Tim Sherwood
  28. 17:34:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
With just 15 minutes to go, there's a clear urgency about Tottenham now as their centre-backs begin to stride out with more purpose from the back. This could be a costly defeat in their season.
  29. 17:33:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
312 minutes? Wayne Rooney could earn almost £9,000 in that time.
  30.
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Opta Joe: 312 - Norwich have ended a run of 312 minutes without a Premier League goal. Welcome.
  31. 17:31:
    SUBSTITUTION- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Norwich prepare a change, with Gary Hooper coming on for Ricky van Wolfswinkel. Interestingly, the Norwich assistant manager no longer uses the trusty scrap of paper as he issues his final instructions to the striker via a tablet. It's the way of the world now.

Niall Davey: I'm all for blooding youngsters but Bentaleb offers nothing! Eriksen and Townsend on the bench? I know who I would pick...
Ross McInnes: Paulinho gets taken off while Bentaleb yet again runs around like a headless chicken. Shocking call Mr Sherwood.
  33. 17:27:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Soldado on, shackles off. Aaron Lennon puts a pacy cross on to the head of the Spanish striker who glances wide. Norwich need to batten down the hatches.
  34. 17:25:
    SUBSTITUTION- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Here he comes. Roberto Soldado is on for Paulinho and, with his first touch, the Spanish striker blazes wide after the perfect lay-off from Emmanuel Adebayor.
  35.
BBC Radio 5 live's Clive Allen at Carrow Road, BBC Radio 5 liveNorwich 1-0 Spurs
"The Norwich crowd are loving everything that their team are doing, it's been an explosive game since the start of this second half."
  36. 17:21:
    GREAT SAVE!- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
It's starting to open up now - Robert Snodgrass spinning on the edge of the box and firing in a shot which Hugo Lloris is equal to.
  37. 17:21:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
A big chance, a big moment, a big save from a big man. Emmanuel Adebayor capitalises on Sebastien Bassong's heavy touch and bears down on goal but John Ruddy is quick off his line to smother the Spurs striker and deny him an equaliser.

Khalid: So dull watching Spurs at the mo, bring back the days of free flowing football and 'Arry, bought the best out of each player.
Paul Murphy: I really can't see what Sherwood likes about Bentaleb. Get Eriksson and Soldado on and go two up front. Now. Need to win this.
Krishan Goyal: Chadli brings nothing to this team. Sherwood making the same mistake AVB did by not picking the creative ones
  39. 17:18:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Surely Tim Sherwood is looking in the direction of Christian Eriksen and even Roberto Soldado on the bench? If not, those two need to be doing star jumps in front of the gaffer because Spurs need a new direction going forward as Danny Rose bursts forward but concedes possession with a sloppy pass which fails to pick out Emmanuel Adebayor.
  40.
BBC Radio 5 live's Clive AllenNorwich 1-0 Spurs
"We really have a game on our hands now because Spurs need to keep on the coat tails of Liverpool, and for Norwich, what a big victory this would be."
  41. 17:14:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
Nacer Chadli is playing on the wing, but I've not seen him beat a man yet - this time the Belgian getting the ball and checking inside the moment the full-back is on his case. The second he does that, all his side's attacking momentum is lost.
  42. 17:11:
    Norwich 1-0 Tottenham
That goal has energised Norwich, who are snapping into the tackle and pressing Tottenham whenever the visitors get on the ball. They've got something to hang on to now.
  43.
BBC Radio 5 live's Clive AllenNorwich 1-0 Tottenham
"It was a brilliant ball from Johnson, and Snodgrass moved it onto his left foot and put it in brilliantly. It's so important for Norwich - if they are to survive their home form will be vital. Spurs were asleep a little bit, and Norwich made them pay."
    Robert Snodgrass scores
  44. 17:05:
GOAL- Norwich 1-0 Tottenham - Robert Snodgrass (47 mins)
    Norwich City celebrate
A goal which seemed inevitable the moment Nabil Bentaleb was robbed of the ball on the halfway line by Ricky van Wolfswinkel. Norwich sweep forward and Bradley Johnson slides a perfectly weighted pass through to Robert Snodgrass and the ex-Leeds man cuts inside Danny Rose before placing his shot beyond Hugo Lloris. Game on.
  45. 17:04:
    KICK-OFF- Norwich 0-0 Tottenham
Back under way at Carrow Road. Who wants to win this game?

Scotty Lorimer: Henderson has got to be in the squad at this rate, he's the box-to-box midfielder we will need against opposition like Italy.
Rotich Benard: Fraser Forster has done exceptionally well for Celtic, RH give him a chance in the next friendly to prove his worth.
Robert Webb: Why not have a look at Kieran Gibbs, played a lot more football than Ashley Cole this year.
  47. 17:02:
As it stands- Norwich 0-0 Tottenham
Looking at the Premier League table I'm not sure a draw does either side a favour. Will we see a more open second half?
    Norwich 0-0 Tottenham
  48. 16:59:
    Newcastle 1-0 Aston Villa
Very cryptic from Ron Vlaar there...
  49.
Player reaction- Newcastle 1-0 Aston Villa
    Ron Vlaar
Aston Villa skipper Ron Vlaar has apologised for his side's late defeat at Newcastle via Twitter:
"I'm sorry for this result, unnecessary, can't say more now...."
  50. 16:54:
    Player reaction- Liverpool 4-3 Swansea
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson: "It's nice to get on the scoresheet because that's an area that I need to improve. The most important thing is the final result and we got three points.
"We started well and got an early goal and got the second and we needed to see the game out from there. There are a lot of positives to take out of the game but things that need to be addressed and we'll do that during the week.
"We've got to stay very focused on what we want to do as a team. I'm sure the fans are dreaming like us but we have to take each game as it comes but there's a long way to go and we have to keep digging in and performing."
  51. 16:53:
    Manager reaction- Liverpool 4-3 Swansea
    Brendan Rodgers
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "The strong part of our game came through. Our offensive game is very aggressive and we've got goals in the team but we're disappointed with the goals we conceded.
"We know we can score goals and if we're not having one of our better days we have the character and resilience to keep fighting and we know we have the quality.
"We haven't performed at our level but some of our goals and attacking play was at a high level. We're just focused on winning games and no-one's really talking about us for the title, everything's about Chelsea, City and Arsenal. We'll just try to continue to improve."
