MANCHESTER CITY 1vs0 CHELSEA FC

Manchester City stadium plans approved
44′

Yellow Card David Luiz
Azpilicueta has been exposed on more than one occasion this afternoon and he is relieved when Dzeko fails to get on the end of Milner's fizzing low cross. David Luiz becomes the first Chelsea player to be cautioned after his late tackle on Jovetic.
43′
Manchester City have the chance to test the Chelsea defence when Toure is fouled by Mikel. However, Milner wastefully overhits the resulting free kick and it goes straight out of play.
41′
There are some strong tackles taking place on the field now as both managers shout instructions from the touchline. Mikel produces a good challenge to deny Dzeko before Milner tracks back excellently to break up Willian on the Chelsea counter-attack.
39′
Yellow Card Vincent Kompany
Vincent Kompany picks up the first booking of the game after he brings down Hazard. A battle of the Belgians right there.
38′
David Silva was rather anonymous in the recent league meeting between these two sides but he glides beyond Ramires with ease once again. The Spaniard picks out Jovetic on the left but the goalscorer disappointingly fails to find a teammate with his lay-off.
37′
The home fans scream for a penalty when Milner finds himself sandwiched between Luiz and Azpilicueta. However, Phil Dowd is not interested in the appeals and rightfully waves play on.
35′
Hazard shows a glimpse of his quality when he scoops a pass towards Ramires. However, Kompany anticipates the danger superbly and gets across to make a vital interception.
33′
Manchester City win a free kick when Azpilicueta brings down Zabaleta on the right. However, the hosts cannot take advantage as Dzeko's header is well cleared by Cahill. Chelsea have offered very little going forward so far.
31′
Jovetic has been impressive in the first half hour here but he cannot add to his tally as his tame left-footed effort is comfortably held by Cech.
29′
Cech has not been convincing in the opening 29 minutes here and he flaps at Clichy's cross from the left. Fortunately for the Chelsea goalkeeper however, there is no Manchester City shirt gambling at the back post.
27′
That's better from Chelsea! The Premier League leaders switch the ball from left to right excellently and Ivanovic tees up Willian on the edge of the box. However, the Brazilian leans back and balloons an effort high over the bar.
25′
BRILLIANT PLAY FROM MAN CITY! The hosts are dominating the possession at the moment and Jovetic picks out Dzeko outside the box. The Bosnian striker cuts inside the challenge of Luiz before bending a shot towards the far corner which Cech does well to punch to safety.
23′
Yaya Toure is winning the midfield battle at the moment and he bursts forward once again before dragging a right-footed shot wide of the far post. Chelsea look out of sorts at the moment.
21′
SHAKY FROM PANTILIMON! Ivanovic was the difference last time these two sides met and he uses his strength to bulldoze his way down the byline. The Serbian looks to pick out Eto'o with a low cross but it is too close to Pantilimon who spills the ball but pounces on it at the second attempt.
20′
Pantilimon is yet to touch the ball between the sticks for Manchester City and that looks set to continue as Lescott comfortably heads Mikel's cross to safety. Disappointing start from the visitors.
18′
That goal is no less than Manchester City deserve for their endeavours and Chelsea are yet to get going in this contest. Mourinho does not look too pleased on the touchline.
16′
Assist Edin Dzeko
