Barcelona in pole position for Andre Gomes as Valencia seek Mata move

Barcelona have emerged as hot favourites to sign Valencia star Andre Gomes after interest from other top European clubs cooled, according to Sportmasta.

The Portugal international has been linked to a host of sides in the current transfer window, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

United, however, have reportedly dropped out of the race for Gomes, while Valencia are already lining up the Red Devils' Juan Mata as a possible replacement should he move to Camp Nou.
