Lagos State plan farewell testimonial for Keshi and Shuaibu

.
The Centre of Excellence in conjunction with the Supporters Club and Lagos Swan are planning a goodbye game for the fallen heroes
The Lagos state government in partnership with the Sports Writer’s Association of Nigeria and the Nigeria Football Supporters Club have fixed a Lagos Farewell Testimonial for deceased former Super Eagles handlers, Amodu Shuaibu and Stephen Keshi.
The game will hold on July 23 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The Lagos SWAN team will face the Supporters Club while the Super Eagles will battle the Lagos All Stars team in the main match of the day.
Keshi captained the Super Eagles to win the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations title and also led the team to win the same tournament – thus becoming the second man after Egypt's Mohamed El Gohary to achieve such feat.
For Shuaibu, he led the country to two World Cups before passing away as the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Chairman of the event’s committee Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, president-general of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club said proceeds from the game would be given to the families of the departed icons.
