Stars of the show: A Scottie dog leads Team Scotland during the opening ceremony of the  2014 Commonwealth Games in Celtic Park.
  
    The crowd soaks up the atmosphere in the 
Live Zone at Glasgow Green during the build-up to the opening ceremony. 
Three other cultural hubs in Merchant City, Kelvingrove Bandstand and 
BBC at the quay put on free entertainment each day of the Games. 
  
    Day one brings Scotland's first gold 
medal in Glasgow 2014 thanks to Hannah Miley in the women's 400m 
individual medley at Tollcross International Swimming Centre.
  
    Day one produced 'the selfie of the 
Games'. The Queen 'photobombs' a selfie with Australian hockey players 
Jayde Taylor and Brooke Peris during a visit to the National Hockey 
Centre in Glasgow.
  
    Ross Murdoch realises he has won the 
men's 200m breaststroke final ahead of team-mate Michael Jamieson's 
silver and England's Andrew Willis' bronze.
  
    Day four: Erraid Davies wins bronze in 
the women's 100m breaststroke SB9 final. The 13-year-old from Shetland 
stood on the podium at Tollcross Swimming Centre with New Zealand's Zoe 
Pascoe who won gold and Australia's Madeleine Scott who took silver.
  
    Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge meet Usain Bolt during a visit to the Athletes' Village during day six.
  
    Libby Clegg and guide runner Mikail 
Huggins went on to win gold in the women's Para-sport 100m T12 on day 
five. Glasgow 2014 had the biggest number of Para-sports medals in 
Commonwealth Games history with 22 medal events.
  
    Day six: Scotland's gymnastics silver 
medal winners: Dan Purvis, Frank Baines, Adam Cox, Liam Davie and Dan 
Keatings. The silver medal was the first gymnastics medal for Team 
Scotland in any Commonwealth Games.
  
    Sharp shooter Jen McIntosh takes aim 
during the women's 10m air rifle qualification. Her silver medal on day 
six in the 50m rifle 3 positions makes her Team Scotland's most 
decorated female medallist in the Commonwealth Games.
  
    Day seven: Viorel Etko wins Scotland's 
first wrestling medal at the Commonwealth Games since 1994 and 16 years 
after arriving in Britain seeking asylum. He took bronze in the men's 
freestyle 61kg at the SECC.
  
    Day seven and the rain returns after 
glorious weather for the opening ceremony. Australian bowler Kelvin 
Kerkow took shelter at the Kelvin Lawn Bowls Centre as Scotland played 
England.
  
    Fans watch the women's 800m heats at 
Hampden Park during day seven. Many competitors commented on the warm 
reception from spectators during Glasgow 2014 events. 
  
    Day eight: Eilidh Child takes silver in 
the women's 400m hurdles final at Hampden Park. The 27-year-old was 
eclipsed by race favourite Jamaica's Kaliese Spencer and said she had 
"given it everything".
  
    The streets of Glasgow city centre 
transformed. Buchanan Street morphed from shopping venue to scene of the
 men's time trial and women's marathon.
  
    Kim Mickle and Kelsey-Lee Roberts 
celebrate their gold and bronze medals in the women's javelin on day 
seven. The next Commonwealth Games will be held in Australia's Gold 
Coast in 2018.
  
    Day nine: Lynsey Sharp cries on the 
podium as she receives the silver medal for the women's 800m. She 
revealed she had been sick that morning and had steeled herself to 
perform well.
  
    Day 10 and the mail man delivers. Boxer 
Charlie Flynn poses with Team Scotland's 50th medal after winning gold 
in the men's lightweight 60kg final.
  
    On the final day of the Games the heavens
 open and the cyclists took to the streets of Glasgow for the men's and 
women's road races
  
    And Scotland's Kirsty Gilmour has to 
settle for silver after being beaten by Canada's Michelle Li in the 
women's single badminton final.
  
    Entertainment at the closing ceremony includes Lulu, Deacon Blue and Kylie.
