 Wayne Rooney scored twice as Manchester United beat West Ham United 2-0 at Upton Park for their third consecutive win away from home.This picture captures the moment that David Beckham attempted the impossible and subsequently achieved it, by scoring from the halfway line on the opening day of 1996/97 season. The boy wonder, who would go on to become England captain, showed exactly why he was a key member of Sir Alex’s side with this strike.
