Olympiakos midfield lynchpin Michael Olaitan collapsed on the
pitch during a Greek league derby as his side suffered a 3-0 home defeat
to Panathinaikos at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium on Sunday evening.The Nigerian fell to the ground unchallenged during the first half and received medical attention before he was taken off on a stretcher.
Olaitan regained consciousness with the help of medics and was immediately admitted to a nearby Metropolitan hospital to undergo tests.
Late on Sunday, the former Nigeria Under-20 international's condition was described as stable.
The game was Olympiakos’ first defeat of the season having won 24 games and drawing twice in their opening 26 matches of the season.
