TENNIS; Heather Watson qualifies in Indian Wells, Johanna Konta eliminated

Johanna Konta (left) and Heather WatsonHeather Watson has made it through to the main draw of the Indian Wells Open in California, but fellow Briton Johanna Konta failed to qualify.
British number three Watson, 21, beat Virginie Razzano 6-1 6-4 and Teliana Pereira 6-2 6-2 to secure her progress.
She plays Swiss Belinda Bencic, 16, who is coached by Melanie Molitor, mother of ex-world number one Martina Hingis.
British number two Konta, 22, beat Petra Martic before losing 6-4 6-3 to Casey Dellacqua in her final qualifier.
In the men's qualifying, British number three James Ward, 27, won his opening match as he beat Theodoros Angelinos 6-0 7-6 (7-4).
But, fellow Briton Dan Cox, a late entrant into the qualifying draw, was beaten 6-3 6-4 by Slovakia's Andrej Martin.
