The Giallorossi midfielder has been linked with a
number of Premier League clubs and Zenit but says he is committed to
the Serie A leaders for the foreseeable future
The Bosnian midfielder has become an integral part of the Giallorossi since his arrival from Lyon in the summer of 2011, particularly under the guidance of Rudi Garcia this season.
Pjanic, who has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs (Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham) and Russian side Zenit, says he is happy at the Serie A league leaders but could move on sometime in the future.
“I won’t exclude the possibility of one day playing elsewhere, but I doubt this will happen soon,” he told reporters.
“It certainly won’t be in January, which is what some people have said, and certainly not in the next year and a half.”
With his contract expiring in June 2015, Pjanic will be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs in a little over a year’s time, but according to reports in Italy, Roma are understood to have begun discussions to extend the midfielder's stay.
The 23-year-old has started all 12 of the club’s Serie A games, scoring three goals in the process, including a double against Napoli in a 2-0 victory.
