No Premier League side has ever won all 19 of their home matches in a season but Manuel Pellegrini's men have won their first nine and the Argentine thinks they can continue
Pablo Zabaleta believes Manchester City can make history by winning all their Premier League home games this season.
City have won all nine of their home matches so far this season, scoring an incredible 37 goals and conceding just six.
Arsenal drew four times during their famous 'Invincibles' season while City won 18 and drew one of their matches at the Etihad Stadium en route to their first league title since 1968 under Roberto Mancini.
But when asked whether he believes City can go one better, Zabaleta told the Manchester Evening News: “Yes, of course. Whoever we play, we play to win. It doesn’t matter who we have got in front of us. That is very important for that team.
“We don't try to think about records but we take it game by game.
“We feel good and always want to show to the other teams that at the Etihad we are a very strong side.
“For the other teams it’s hard to come here and get points and this is good for us.”
Despite his confidence, however, Zabaleta insists City cannot rely completely on their formidable home form if they are to regain the title.
“It doesn’t matter if we are playing home or away,” he added. “We need to keep playing with the same intensity and I think when we play in our best form, we can beat anyone.
“We are in a good way for the title, one point behind the leaders. There’s still a long way to go and we cannot relax. We have to play against the best teams in away games so it’s going to be very tough.”
