Klopp’s men were held to a 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane after Divock Origi, who started due to the absence of the injured Daniel Sturridge, had headed against the crossbar with just 10 minutes gone.
Klopp, whose men face Rubin Kazan up next, told Sportmasta: “It was an open game, we had our chances, they had theirs which were obviously better, but if we can play better football we will be stronger next time.
“We were a little but nervous when we had the ball and the pace was frantic.
“We need to improve but after three days I’m happy, I’m completely satisfied with a 0-0 draw. It was a good first step and I can work with the performance.
“The first twenty minutes of the game I didn’t have much influence on the game because the crowd were loud and the players started well.
“But when the players needed some encouragement I was there, but I was not unhappy. A draw is not by dream result, but it is okay.
“It was a very important game, because we can now work with this and show the players what was good and what was not so good and we can take the next step.
