England player ratings: Barkley shines, Lallana impresses

England player ratings v Lithuania
England players’ performances following Monday’s 3-0 Euro 2016 qualification win over Lithuania.
JACK BUTLAND: Produced one decent save in the first half, but had little else to do. 6
KYLE WALKER: Good pass to set Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain up. Not tested defensively. 7
PHIL JAGIELKA: Had little to do on his first outing as skipper. 6
PHIL JONES: Again, had little to do, but kept concentration well. 6
KIERAN GIBBS: Like Walker, looked good going forward, and had few defensive duties. 7
JONJO SHELVEY: Put a few probing passes through early on, but faded as the match progressed. 6
ROSS BARKLEY: England’s star man again. Fantastic surging runs and scored a cracking goal. 8
ADAM LALLANA: Lovely flick to play in Kane for England’s second goal. 7
ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN: Took his goal well and looked lively. 7
HARRY KANE: A lively threat throughout. Came within a whisker of being credited for England’s second, but should have found the net in the second half. 6
JAMIE VARDY: Another lively performance from the Leicester forward, but was unable to find the net. 6
Substitutes:
DANNY INGS (on for Kane, 59mins): Worked doggedly, hunting down the Lithuanian players, but did not score. 6
DELE ALLI (on for Lallana, 67mins): An assured performance from the youngster on his second appearance. 6
ANDROS TOWNSEND (on for Oxlade-Chamberlain, 73mins): Did not make an impact when he came on, but the game was dying down when he came on.
