EVERTON PULL PLUG ON HART DEAL
Joe Hart’s will have to explore alternative options in his quest for first-team football after Everton decided to opt out of a loan deal for England’s No.1 goalkeeper.According to the Daily Mail, the Toffees came away from the negotiating table after holding preliminary talks with Manchester City on Monday.
Everton were reportedly put off by the Citizens’ demands after the Merseyside club learned that it would cost them £7million to take him on loan for the season, a deal which also brought his £135,000-a-week wages into account.
Everton were not willing to accept those terms, with the good form of current No.1 Maartin Stekelenburg also being a factor in their decision-making process.
Hart has a little over a week to resolve his short-team future at least but, with Sevilla cooling their interest, the 29-year-old could be set for life on the Manchester City bench until January.
ARSENAL CONTINUE DEFENDER SEARCH
Injury-ravaged Arsenal are ready to hijack Marcel Tisserand’s proposed moved to Espanyol, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Monaco and DR Congo international was all set to move to La Liga, but has since stalled on the deal as he waits to see if Arsenal’s interest results in a firm bid.
Tisserand can cover two positions at centre-back and right-back, and is said to be looking for a fresh start after struggling to make a name for himself at Monaco.
Arsene Wenger, who has been forced into the market due to the long-term absence of Per Mertesacker, has said that expects Arsenal to sign a new defender before the window closes.
