Liverpool blocked Sturridge’s attempts to join Arsenal – report

Daniel Sturridge: Linked with loan move to Arsenal
Liverpool are reported to have told Daniel Sturridge to stay at Anfield amid claims his representatives tried to engineer him a deadline day loan move to Arsenal.
It has been reported that the England striker, who has cut a disappointed figure at Anfield so far this season, was keen to quit the club, with his agents offering him to the Gunners, with whom he has been linked in the past.
However, Goal claims Liverpool remain adamant the frustrated striker would not be allowed to leave, and especially not to one of their top-four rivals.
The 26-year-old, a boyhood Arsenal fan, has spoken about his frustration at his lack of game time and Jurgen Klopp’s failure to play him in his preferred central position.
Klopp, when questioned about the player’s form and fitness, insists Sturridge’s rhythm will soon return and has also insisted he remains “really happy” with the player.
Although it’s reported Liverpool did NOT receive any direct offers to join Arsenal, or any other side, the article claims Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was open to adding Sturridge to his squad and would have made a move had Liverpool indicted a willingess to let the striker leave.
