Mourinho in fresh jab at Wenger after bragging about his success

Jose Mourinho claims he is under far more pressure than Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger because he is far more successful at winning trophies and more is expected of him.
The Manchester United manager has a long-running feud with Wenger and said in the build-up to Saturday’s game with Arsenal that the Frenchman “gets more respect in the media despite not winning a title in 18 years”.
And Mourinho was left feeling further frustrated after Wenger’s Arsenal side “showed the mettle of champions” and pinched a point in Saturday’s 1-1 Old Trafford draw.
And in another bitter blast at his nemesis, the Manchester United boss claimed he is held to a higher standard than his Arsenal counterpart and the top flight’s other managers.
He said: “The Arsenal manager hasn’t won a championship in 14 years. I haven’t won a championship in 18 months. He, in 14 years, failed to build a team to be champion.
“I’ve been here for four months. And the demand is only for me and not for others.”
Wenger last lifted the Premier League in 2004. While he has since won three FA Cups, Mourinho has – in that time – clinched three titles at Chelsea, two at Inter Milan, along with the Champions League, and the Spanish league with Real Madrid.
The Portuguese added: “It must be because of the career I’ve made. Because I got to the clubs and always won right away.
“And this is a more difficult reality, because it is an extremely difficult competition, with teams being prepared for a lot longer, with excellent players, with excellent coaches.
“Manchester really live in a period that needs stability.
“A stability that the club wants to give me, a stability that the club gives me, a stability that the fans give me, but that the press does not accept very well.”
