Dundalk interested in former Chelsea youth Clifford

RUMOURS: Dundalk interested in former Chelsea youth Clifford
The former Blues and Leicester midfielder is a target for the League of Ireland champions, according to reports

Dundalk are in talks with former Chelsea youth team captain Conor Clifford, according to the Irish Independent.
Clifford began his professional career at Chelsea and led the Blues to their first FA Youth Cup triumph since 1961 in 2010, scoring the winning goal against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
However, he left the club in 2013, joining Leicester City for a brief period, before moving on to Southend United and he was most recently plying his trade for Boreham Wood in the fifth tier of English football.
Now 25, the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international could be set to join League of Ireland champions Dundalk, who are keen to progress after a historic season, which saw them compete in the Europa League group stage.
Stephen Kenny's side have also been linked with a move for Celtic forward Michael Duffy as the club looks to find a replacement for Daryl Horgan, who left the club for Preston North End.
