The Dutch coach takes over from Roberto Martinez at
Goodison Park having previously led Southampton to two top-seven
finishes in the Premier League
The Dutch coach has signed a three-year contract with the Toffees after leaving the south coast outfit following two years in charge.
Having joined the Saints in 2014, Koeman led them to a seventh-placed finish in his first season in charge before going one better in 2015-16 as he secured qualification for the Europa League group stages.
He now replaces Roberto Martinez, with the former Wigan Athletic boss having been sacked in May after leading the Goodison Park outfit to 11th in the Premier League and the worst home record in the club's history.
And former Feyenoord and Valencia coach Koeman expressed his excitement at joining the Merseyside outfit.
“I believe in the club, in the team, in the fans and in our ability to achieve things in the future," he told Everton's official website.
“Everton is a club with a great history and real ambition and it is a proud feeling for me to be part of what we want to go and do, together with the chairman and Farhad Moshiri.
“I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and to preparing for a big season in the Premier League.”
And Everton chairman Bill Kenwright says the Dutch coach was his side's first choice in replacing Martinez.
“We are really pleased to have secured the man who was our No.1 target from the moment we set out to appoint a new manager.
“Ronald has such a strong track record in the game, instantly commanding respect for what he achieved as a player and for his qualities and accomplishments as a manager.
