Aguero didn't win Man City the game, Bayern did; says. Dante
Dante has blamed Bayern Munich's defending in their 3-2 Champions League defeat against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday and feels their own mistakes cost them the game, rather than Sergio Aguero's individual brilliance.
The Argentine attacker netted a hat-trick to help City to a vital win, but Dante feels Aguero only got opportunities to make the difference because of Bayern's sloppy defending.
"Aguero is a great player but I think the defeat was not because of what City did, it was just two mistakes from us," the Brazilian defender, 31, told Uefa.com.
"These things happen in football. Aguero is a high-quality player and when he gets a chance normally he scores a goal.
"We respect City - they are a great team and, even if we had already qualified in first place, we came here to play and respect the fans.
"Even with 10 men we played well. It was a good performance."
Bayern remain first in Group A with 12 points from five games, while City sit fourth with five points from as many games, level with Roma and CSKA Moscow.
