Ronaldo making the difference for Madrid, says Varane The Frenchman has hailed the attacker's sublime performances in the opening weeks of the 2014-15 campaign, while also praising Iker Casillas Raphael Varane has singled out Cristiano Ronaldo as Real Madrid's undisputed star player following his fine run of form in recent weeks.
The Portugal international netted once in Madrid's 2-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday evening to take his tally for 2014-15 to 10 goals in five La Liga appearances and Varane has stressed that the prolific attacker is vital for the Santiago Bernabeu side.
"Cristiano is in really good shape and that is very good for the team," Varane told Madrid's official website.
"Playing against Villarreal is always difficult. They are three important points and now we have to keep on moving forward."
The Frenchman also had words of praise for Iker Casillas after he kept a clean sheet in El Madrigal.
"Casillas is in very good shape, today we kept a clean sheet and that is important for us. It's good for the team."
Real Madrid currently sit fourth in La Liga with 12 points from six games.
