RUMOURS: Chelsea see £32m Gomes bid rejected
Valencia are holding out for another £10m due to Benfica being set to pocket 25 per cent of any fee, though the Premier League giants face no serious rivals for his signature

Chelsea have seen a £32 million bid for Andre Gomes rejected by Valencia, according to Sky Sports.

The Liga side are holding out for a fee closer to £42m for the Portugual international due to a clause which will see his former club Benfica pocket 25 per cent of any fee received.

Valencia hope to reinvest over £30m from any potential deal into their own squad, bumping up the asking price by around £10m, as they would look to replace one of their key players ahead of the new season.

Chelsea have no serious rivals for the midfielder's signature and are now assessing their next move in light of an asking price which would only be bettered by the £50m paid for Fernando Torres in 2011.
